I had the idea to start this blog a couple of years ago.

The first year I did… nothing.

I was busy. I was writing articles for my freelancing clients. I was keeping up with my first blog. I was falling in love.

I desperately wanted this blog to see the light of day. I knew it was part of my calling. But nothing was happening.

Sometimes, it felt like a beautiful dream never destined to come true.

It was time to make space…

If I wanted to give birth to this blog, I knew I had to make some changes.

I cut back on some freelancing gigs and fired some clients that were stressing me too much and paying me too little. This alone cleared up an entire day for me to dedicate only to this blog. In a couple of months, I got the layout ready, wrote a few posts and started networking.

I was finally ready to hit that publish button.

Lesson learned: Whatever you want, start getting into the position to get it now.

Do you want to meet Mr Right and be in a serious, steady relationship? Stop going on dates with every random guy who asks just because you don’t want to be alone.

Do you want to move to London for your dream job but are hesitant to take the plunge cos you got no offer yet? Get your affairs in order so you can move to the big city if a sudden offer pop ups. Or start saving so you will be able to make the move in a few months and look for a job on the spot.

Send the universe a clear sign that you’re ready for your gift to show up. That’s what it’s waiting to deliver it.

Don’t fill your life with distractions

When you take on random jobs just to make more money or go on dates with guys you don’t really like because you don’t want to spend Saturday night at home alone, you’re telling the universe you’re happy with the status quo.

The universe listens and gives you more of those distractions.

So don’t get distracted. Just because you don’t have the job or guy of your dreams yet, doesn’t mean you have to fill the empty space with the wrong ones.

You can leave the space blank.

It’s gonna be uncomfortable. The blank spaces have a way to make you think about what your really want. They make you question your beliefs. They test your resolve and your perseverance.

They feel… empty.

They also feel… alive.

A blank space is a canvas for you to fill with whatever you want. The possibilities are endless.

Don’t taint the canvas with colours you don’t like, images you don’t care about.

Paint the picture you want to see. Create the life you want to live.

Get rid of the distractions. Your future will show up.
